Celebrate the musical traditions and folklife of the Missouri Ozarks with Cathy Barton and Dave Para. Presenting a range of music including regional dance tunes, traditional ballads, and new songs, Barton and Para draw inspiration from more than 40 years of recording music. Their most recent recording, Carp Fishing in Missouri, features a variety of fiddle tunes, highlighting the couple’s hammered dulcimer, banjo, and guitar repertoire.
The duo has created dynamic performances—acclaimed for their variety and expertise in vocal and instrumental music—at riverboats, festivals, clubs, concert halls, schools, and studios across the United States and Europe. Additionally, they have conducted several instrumental workshops as well as songs from the Civil War, American rivers, traditional gospel songs, children’s songs, and Christmas music.
